As the Museum prepares for its 1950s exhibit, it’s the perfect time to feature Nelly Don, a Kansas native who revolutionized the apparel industry. Join Marla Day as she introduces Nelly Don, a Parsons native, who built a fashion empire. Day will discuss the vision, hard work, fair treatment of her workers and more that made Nelly Don the largest dressmaker of the 20th century. Day is the curator of Kansas State University’s Historic Costume and Textile Museum in Manhattan. Humanities Kansas underwrites this presentation.
