Volunteer

Volunteers make it happen! It is through the wonderful help of volunteers that great things are accomplished, and admission remains free. Be a volunteer at the Smoky Hill Museum, where opportunities abound. The Museum has ongoing projects that you can help with, such as presenting to school groups, helping conduct research, staffing the Museum Store or helping build and install an exhibit. There are also short-term projects such as Street Fair and Kansas Days. Whatever your area of interest may be, your help is needed and welcomed.

"I wanted to thank you for inviting me to volunteer in this capacity to help students visualize the Pack Your Wagon Adventure. I was surprised by some of the comments, some of the items taken and not taken, also the interaction from the teachers and parents as well that really got into the idea that they were truly trekking across the country.  This was such a fun event, of course exhausting, but great to be able to see all you put together into action.  Thank you again."
